Interim 1st Grade Teacher

Christ Methodist Day School seeks an Interim 1st Grade classroom teacher for the Fall of 2024. The interim must be passionate about teaching and fostering excitement in elementary students. He or she should be willing to try new things and embrace new technology and curriculum while also adhering to the many traditions CMDS holds dear. An understanding of assessing children, as well as a knowledge of a standards-based grading scale, is beneficial. 

Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in education or a related field; prior teaching experience; the ability to be an active participant on the grade-level teaching team, understanding of and the ability to teach math and literacy skills using a multi-sensory and small group approach; bringing fresh ideas to the project-oriented curriculum; an understanding of and familiarity with a balanced approach to technology; and a genuine love of children’s education. Early Childhood Music Teacher

Christ Methodist Day School seeks a Part-Time Early Childhood Music Teacher for the 24-25 school year. The CMDS Encore program includes a variety of Fine Arts classes as well as our STEAM offerings. Encore expands and complements the core CMDS curriculum, immersing students in an elementary, liberal arts-style experience. Encore faculty members teach a rotation of classes each week, planning appropriate and standards-based lessons for each grade level. 

Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in music education, early childhood education, or a music-related field; prior teaching experience; the ability to work as a member of the CMDS Encore team; planning music weekly lessons for 2K-SK students; working closely with the EC Bible teacher; leading EC chapel programs; planning and directing EC music programs for Christmas and Spring; helping students grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of music through a variety of planned music experiences which include singing, moving to music, playing of instruments and listening and has a genuine love of children’s education. Instructional Assistant

Full and Part Time Positions

Christ Methodist Day School is hiring Instructional Assistants for the 24-25 school year. Instructional Assistants work with grade-level teaching teams, as well as Encore teachers, to provide support and assistance during the school day. Duties can vary from providing teachers with administrative tasks, providing small-group instruction, assisting with school events and preparing materials and curriculum for instruction. Instructional Assistants should be compassionate, enjoy working with children, demonstrate excellent communication skills, be flexible concerning duties requested by faculty and administration, be self-motivated and a good manager of time and be a team player who works hard each day to support the CMDS school community. AOK@CMDS After-Care Counselors

Under the supervision of the AOK@CMDS Director, counselors are responsible for the safety of campers and assist in the implementation of activities with their assigned groups. The counselor should actively participate in sports/games with children, and be able to effectively monitor behavior.

This position is responsible for helping to maintain a safe, clean program site, ensuring a high level of program quality, and working to establish a positive relationship with all campers and co-counselors.

 

Would you like to be a teacher in the CMDS Early Education Program?

The EEP – our program for infants and toddlers – is looking to hire immediately for full-time positions. Job Responsibilities include ensuring the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all program standards; maintaining a fun and interactive classroom that is clean and organized; and a willingness to work with infant and toddlers including diaper changing and bottle feeding.

Experience working in a licensed childcare facility as well as coursework in early childhood education or development is preferred. Other requirements include the ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience; flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work; and physical ability to move, sit, bend, play outside and on the floor with children and lift 35 pounds easily.
