Application Process 

Application Materials
To receive Priority Classification, Application Materials must be on file before January 1, 2008.

  • Application for Admission Download
    All information must be complete and the application must be signed
  • Application Fee
      $60 non-refundable Application Fee per student (checks payable to CMDS)

  • Records Release Form Download
    Submit this form if your child is currently enrolled in another school/program      
      
  • Birth Certificate
    Include a copy of your child’s state certified birth certificate

If your child has had any evaluations, such as academic, psychological, or speech and hearing, please include a copy of the results with the Application Materials.

Admissions Committee Meetings

The Admissions Committee will meet and review:
            Application Materials
            Teacher Recommendation
            Report Cards or Progress Reports
            Evaluations
            Admissions Testing

Priority Classification (for applications on file before January 1, 2008) will be considered for:

1. Siblings of students currently enrolled at Christ Methodist Day School
(1st to CUMC member siblings, then all others)

2. Children of Christ United Methodist Church members

3. Christ Methodist Day Care and PDO participants

4. All other applicants are given priority based on the date the application was received

Frequently Asked Questions

  • When should I apply?

    Christ Methodist Day School accepts applications year round for the upcoming school year and future school years.  It is best to apply early, since certain grade levels fill up quickly.

  • What are the birthday cutoff dates?

    Students entering Pre Kindergarten must be 3 years old before June 1 of the entrance year.

  • Students entering Junior Kindergarten must be 4 years old before June 1 of the entrance year.

    Students entering Senior Kindergarten must be 5 years old before June 1 of the entrance year.

    Students entering First Grade must be 6 years old before June 1 of the entrance year.

  • Does Christ Methodist Day School offer priority admittance?

    Yes.  Priority information must be on file in the Admissions Office by January 1 of the child’s entrance year to receive priority status.  Qualified applicants are given priority based on the following criteria:

    Siblings of current students (First CUMC members, then all others)

    CUMC members

    Christ Methodist Day Care and PDO participants

    Date application is received

    Priority classification is not always necessary for enrollment.

  • How many students are enrolled at Christ Methodist Day School?

    Currently, Christ Methodist has 363 students in Pre Kindergarten through Sixth Grade enrolled for the 2007-2008 school year.

  • Do Christ Methodist students wear uniforms?

    Yes. Senior Kindergarten through Sixth Grade students wear uniforms at Christ Methodist. Uniforms can be purchased from one of our two vendors, Parker Uniform or Land's End. Pre Kindergarten and Junior Kindergarten students wear play clothes. Visit our Parents page to learn more about the Uniform Policy.
  • Are scholarships available to students at Christ Methodist Day School?

    Yes.  Christ Methodist offers need-based scholarships to students in Senior Kindergarten through Sixth Grade with contracts on file.  Families interested must complete a School and Student Service for Financial Aid form, which can be obtained from the Day School Office.  The Student Life Committee of the Christ Methodist Board of Directors reviews the anonymous files and awards monies to families accordingly.  All scholarship information is kept strictly confidential.  Christ Methodist Day School awards scholarships to families that qualify financially regardless of race, color, national, or ethnic origin.
  • What is the student/teacher ratio?

    In order to provide the most individualized educational experience for your child, Christ Methodist places importance in keeping our class sizes small. 

    Pre Kindergarten 10:1
    Junior Kindergarten 12:1
    Senior Kindergarten 14:1
    First and Second Grades 16:1
    Third Grade 18:1
    Fourth through Sixth Grades 22:1
  • Can I come visit the school?

    A campus visit is very helpful in determining if Christ Methodist Day School is the right place for your child.  You are welcome to come and tour Christ Methodist at any time.  Please call 261-2157 to set up an appointment.  An Open House is also a wonderful time to see the school. We typically hold Open Houses in the fall. Please call us to learn more or to make reservations.
