Our 2K, PK and JK classrooms are mini learning communities that create interest through enriched curriculum, group activities, state-of-the-art technology and purposeful learning centers.

A hands-on learning environment promotes creativity and critical thinking.

Our experienced and loving teachers are goal-oriented in their curriculum planning and meet regularly to assess their effectiveness. One of our primary goals is to enhance the intrinsic link between social and emotional growth, as these characteristics have proven to have a strong impact on a child’s cognitive development.

Lower School

In a challenging and supportive learning environment, our SK, 1st and 2nd grade teachers address the unique intellectual, spiritual, social and physical needs of each student.

At CMDS, it’s all about balance. The lower school curriculum focuses on giving each child a solid foundation in the core subjects of literature, language arts, math, science, and social studies. It also provides opportunities for creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving. Encore classes in Bible, Art, Computer Lab, Engineering Lab, Library, Math Lab, Music, Physical Education, Science Lab and Spanish round out the rigorous core curriculum.

Upper School

Students in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade experience many opportunities to become more independent and responsible for their own learning.

CMDS provides transitions during these years to prepare the boys and girls for middle school. Upper School students have a departmentalized learning environment where teachers specialize in core subjects. In addition to those core subjects, students rotate through Encore classes, which are taught by specialized teachers in the areas of Art, Bible, Computer, E Lab, Library, Music, Wellness, Spanish, and Science Lab.
