Miss Ruth Stevens - Third Grade
“He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8
The daughter of missionaries, Ruth Stevens has lived as many years overseas (Germany, Russia, Hungary, Turkey) as she has in the United States. Though she graduated from the International Christian School of Budapest, much of her childhood was spent right here in Memphis. Ruth attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, earning a degree in elementary education. After graduating, she taught first and third grades at Oasis International School in Ankara, Turkey, and then traveled to Brazil where she spent two months volunteering at several orphanages.
Just last year, Ruth moved back to Memphis where she’s been teaching phonics and reading comprehension at a tutoring company as well as helping a family with home schooling. She says that she is excited to be starting a new chapter of her life and we are fortunate to have her on our faculty.
Ruth is a member of First Evangelical Church and, when she’s not teaching, she enjoys photography, baking, traveling, and spending time with her two nephews, one of whom is a student here at Christ Methodist.

What we are learning: May 14-18
Reading- We will finish Charlotte's Web this week and have a test on Friday. They will need a copy of their book in class everyday as we will be using it daily. Next week we will watch the movie!

This is our last full week of school, and we have some important tests! Please encourage your child to do their best work as well as be on their best behavior. Let's finish well!
Please be practicing cursive and multiplication facts at home as needed.
Please think about the donation you will be able to make to the CMDS Annual fund. We are encouraging all families to participate. The amount is not as important as the fact that you are donating. We have several incentives for the grades reaching 100% participation.
