

Mrs. Mary Cheairs - Science

Mary Cheairs teaches first through sixth graders in the Science Lab. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Millsaps College and a master’s degree in instruction and curriculum from the University of Memphis. Mary has fourteen years experience in the education field. In addition to her time at Christ Methodist she has taught second, third, and sixth grades in Mississippi.
Mary and her husband, Thomas, have three young sons, William, Lawson, and Nathan. While not busy teaching, she enjoys exercising, and spending time with her family. They are active members of Christ United Methodist Church.

5th grade - Mold, Yeast, Invertebrates (includes worm dissection), Biomes, Matter, Space- Starlab, Electricity
6th grade - Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Atoms, Molecules, Matter, Microscope Unit, Space - Starlab, Growth and Development (includes frog dissection)
5th and 6th graders participate in Science Fair in February
All students visit the Starlab 4 class periods following spring break.
