Mrs. Linda Patterson - Junior Kindergarten

Linda Patterson has lived in Memphis since she was a young girl. She attended the University of Memphis where she earned a B.S. in education. Her major was in child development. Before joining the Christ Methodist faculty, Linda was the assistant director of a local day care center and a library supervisor at the U of M.
This beloved teacher has been a part of the CMDS early childhood program since 1985, using her gift with the "little ones" at both the PreK and JrK levels. Linda continues to stay abreast of educational trends and developments by attending various workshops and meetings.
Linda and her husband, Billy, have two married sons, Andrew and Adam, both of whom are CMDS graduates. Linda keeps busy by walking, golfing and traveling. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family, which includes three precious grandchildren, and her two Labs.
Monthly highlights: Winter weather and snowmen introduced the concepts of small, medium and large. The emphasis of the letter Nn will be on Nursery rhymes and number work such as adding, sorting, counting and grouping. We will discuss math terms such as more than, less than and equals. During Oo week we will discuss the shapes of oval and octagon, learn about opposites, and study ocean life. Letter Pp is always a big week with Pajama Day and Pancakes the big highlight. We will also learn about taking care of our "planet" and writing about life on our "perfect planet". February is love month. Scripture tells us we love others because God first loved us.
