Mrs. Kathy Greenway - Junior Kindergarten

Although she was born and raised in California, Kathy Greenway has made Memphis her home since junior high. She graduated from Memphis Prep and attended the University of Mississippi where she earned a BA in education. In her twenty-four year teaching career, Kathy has gained experience in several different grade levels, including pre kindergarten, junior kindergarten, and first, second, and fourth grades. She is excited to be back in the JrK classroom, as she loves working with the "precious little ones."
Both of Kathy's children have grown up at CMDS. Her son Will (Class of 2000) is studying at Ole Miss and his little sister, Libby, is a fifth grader at Christ Methodist. Kathy is an active member of Hope Presbyterian Church and enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband, Carl, who owns DUCTZ, an air duct cleaning business.
MONTHLY HIGHLIGHTS:
Spring has popped into our rooms in many creative ways. Our letter Uu emphasis will be on things we see up in the sky such as birds, kites, and butterflies, or things seen underground such as worms, roots, & rabbits. During Vv week our young scientists will experiment by erupting volcanoes. We're also excited about our make believe Vet Pet Center in the Discovery Room. A couple of activities to look forward to for our Ww week will include watermelon math, weather words, & dressing up for Wacky Wednesday. Jr-K will celebrate our completion of the alphabet with a Yard Sale in the courtyard. The end of the year will be a busy time as we prepare to host Open House, Grandparent's Day, Field Day, and our grand finale---the Jr-K Sharing Program.
