Mrs. Jena Miller - Junior Kindergarten

Mrs. Miller grew up in Cleveland, Mississippi and attended Delta State University. She earned a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education and has taught at Christ Methodist for 10 years. Additionally, she has taught at
St. Theresa in New Jersey and at St. George’s in Germantown, TN. Mrs. Miller and her husband, Justin, have 2 children: five-year-old, Sims, and four-year-old, Miles. When not busy teaching Junior Kindergarten, Mrs. Miller enjoys spending time with her family, exercising and reading.
Monthly Highlights:
Spring is in the air in Jr-K! The letter's that we will highlight in March are R,S,and T. Remarkable readiness skills will be reinforced through the study of letter "Rr". We'll cut rectangles to make a robot, we'll count sets of robots & write the numerals, and we'll read poetry about rain and rainbows and discuss rhyming words. The children will bring home a prayer rock & poem to remind them to say their prayers. They are so excited about designing their own robot made from recycled materials! For the letter "Ss", we will do a science experiment of sprouting seeds to introduce the sequence of seed to flower. We'll review squares and introduce the solar system. When we get to the letter "Tt", it will be time to make a Jr-K favorite--- a treasure box! As part of our spring weather awareness, we will demonstrate a tornado in a bottle and talk about tornado safety. This will bring us up to Easter season which is always a special time at CMDS.
