Mrs. Diane Oxner - School Receptionist
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16
The daughter of a career army man, Diane didn't call her birthplace of Fort Lee, Virginia home for long, as her family moved around a lot when she was a child. It was when her father was assigned a yearlong tour of duty in Vietnam that her family bought a home and settled in Memphis. Diane's father felt it important that his wife and kids have the support of close relatives during his long absence.
Diane graduated high school in Memphis and, after earning her Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from the U of M, taught third grade for two years, eighth grade math for one year, and junior kindergarten for two years. In addition to her classroom experience, Diane has, over the years, taught GED classes for Memphis City Schools and tutored and taught study skills for the Memphis Tutorial Association and Gateway Christian Home Education Center.
Christ Methodist is fortunate to have Diane on staff, now in her thirteenth year, for she is an integral part of the school community. Her title of receptionist doesn’t begin tell the whole story. She's our greeter, messenger, attendance-taker, carpool coordinator, delivery person, and all-around problem solver. She is also the proud parent of three CMDS graduates - Chris, Lauren, and Steve. Diane and Brent, her husband of thirty-five years, enjoy being involved in their church, spending time with family, walking, and watching basketball and football, especially when the Ole Miss Rebels are playing!
