Science Lab

Science Lab is a hands-on course where students are encouraged to reach conclusions and solve problems while thinking scientifically. Interest in  science comes at an early age, and our goal is to spark and foster that passion for learning.  Lab topics correlate with the science students are learning in the classroom.  Microscope use starts in first grade, and dissections start in fourth grade!

In the spring, students spend 4 lab classes in our portable Starlab Planetarium.  When the children crawl through the tunnel to enter the planetarium, they feel as if they have entered the night sky.   Topics include celestial movement, phases and rotation of the moon, locations of Greek, Native American, and Egyptian constellations, seasonal changes, and the path of the sun.
