Mrs. Amy Stone - Fifth Grade/SCA Sponsor

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13

Amy grew up in Memphis and is a graduate of CMDS.  She earned her BS in early childhood education from the University of Memphis where she was a member of Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society, Kappa Delta Phi International Education Honor Society, and the Golden Key Honor Society.  She taught a first/second grade split class at The Shepherd's School prior to joining the CMDS faculty in 2001. Amy also has experience as an instructor for Slingerland Summer School for teachers program and, in 2008, was chosen as the Tennessee Lottery "Educator of the Week." Amy enjoys serving as the sponsor of the school's nationally recognized Student Council Association.

She cites her Granny as her inspirational hero because "she has shown me the importance of serving and giving." Amy enjoys reading, walking, cooking, listening to music, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and family. She is also involved in the Chrysalis and Emmaus walks. Amy and her husband Steve, who is the director of youth and young adults at Emmanuel UMC, have one daughter, Caroline, who is a JrK student here at CMDS!
