The Best Week Ever

Once a year at Christ Methodist Day School, we have a week full of excitement called Good Choices Week. During this week, we do things like fun activities, contests, and a special chapel. The week starts off with a balloon launch, at which one student from each class gets a balloon and releases it, setting our goals for the week. Each balloon represents a good choice the students and teachers will make during the week.
Every morning during this week, we have a contest on the announcements about good choices that we have made that morning or the day before. For example, if Mr. Jackson asks what fruit we have eaten or physical activity we have done, we write it down on a piece of paper and put it in a jar. At the end of the day, if Mr. Jackson draws our name, we win some fabulous prizes or merchandise.
We also have an all-school chapel. This year our guest was Coach James Hanrahan. He explained some good decisions we should make, even when they aren’t the easiest. Coach also told us that if we make the right choices, we would feel like we did the right thing inside our hearts.  Coach James made us think about how we should choose fruits and vegetables over junk food. If we listen to him, we will be proud of the outcome of our bodies.
We have lots of activities to look forward to during Good Choices Week. It’s one of the many great things CMDS has to offer!
