Day Care

Our Day

Curriculum designed to enhance physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development of each child is carefully planned and designed.  Standard Publishing's "Heart Shaper" series provides the basis for our Bible based curriculum center-wide.  We subscribe to Weekly Reader and Animal Baby as additional resources our teachers utilize to benefit our children in the classroom.  The Curriculum Specialist assists teachers in planning secular theme related activities that coordinate with Bible lessons and are age appropriate.  We hire teachers that are knowledgeable in Early Childhood Education so that they may provide a stimulating learning environment that will encourage the child's self-concept and confidence. Opportunities are provided for the children to make good choices and learn while having fun.

Learning Centers are an integral part of our day. They include music, art, science, social studies, language, drama, construction, fine/gross motor, and practical life skills. Learning Centers reinforce skills taught through hands-on activities, experimentation, and play with a purpose. These centers also enhance the child's development because they:

*allow the child to be creative
*develop imagination, cognition, and emotional strengths
*help the child to succeed while developing new competencies
*teach children to work in groups, to negotiate, to resolve conflict, and to problem solve
*allow the child to learn at his/her own pace
* build active, healthy minds and bodies

Recess time is important to us and we play outdoors thirty minutes in the morning and thirty minutes in the afternoon. We do not go outside in inclement weather, if there is a heat index, or a wind chill factor. We have two indoor playrooms that we can utilize on days we cannot play outdoors.

Chapel is conducted by our chaplain each Thursday in Reeves Chapel. Children review the Bible story of the week, sing, and pray. Parents/Families are always welcome to join us for this special time.
