Mrs. Tammy Williamson joined our CMDS
team in 1999 as a part time French and Spanish Instructor for grades
one through six. Since then, she has developed a full time Spanish
program for grades Pre-K through six. Mrs. Williamson was
born in Memphis, raised in DeSoto County, MS, and now resides in
Memphis. She earned her Masters and Bachelors Degree, as well
as her Teaching Certificate from The University of Memphis. She
also attended La Universidad de Chile in Santiago, Chile and Rhodes
College. Mrs. Williamson is a member of the Tennessee Foreign
Language Teaching Association, American Council on the Teaching
of Foreign Languages, American Association of Teacher’s of
Spanish and Portuguese, National Honor Society, and was a Rotary
International Scholar.
Before coming to Christ Methodist Day School, Mrs.
Williamson taught Spanish at The University of Memphis and Campus
School. She has also held positions as an Educational Counselor
for Fournier Learning Strategies, an English Instructor for
Banco Sudamericano in Santiago, Chile, and a Public Relations Associate for
Nicole Miller in New York City. She taught Spanish on-line
for Itawamba Community College for three semesters as well.
Mrs. Williamson has two children who attend Christ Methodist
Day School. She enjoys traveling with her family. Mrs. Williamson is
inspired by Don Quixote de la Mancha who always tries to do what is
right even though he is "un poco loco."
