Mrs. Barbara Whitmire "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."- Matthew 19:26 In 1968 Mrs. Barbara Whitmire moved to Memphis after being born and raised in Jasper, Alabama. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and Elementary Education from Lambuth College. Before moving to Memphis Mrs. Whitmire interned as a Medical Technologist at Jackson General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee. She has taught schools in Savannah, Georgia and in the Memphis City School System. Mrs. Whitmire also has worked in the Hematology Lab at Chatham County General Hospital in Savannah, Georgia during the summer. In 1977 Mrs. Whitmire joined the faculty at Christ Methodist Day School when her son was in first grade. He graduated from Christ Methodist and Mrs. Whitmire has continued to be a beloved second grade teacher. Art is her passion and she enjoys going to art galleries, reading, and going to movies. She also spends time teaching drawing and oil painting classes in the summer and doing commissioned paintings.
