Mrs. Debi Gray "Be still, and know that I am God." -Psalm 46:10 In 1975 Mrs. Deborah came from her hometown of Fountain, Florida in order to attend Southwestern College (now Rhodes College). She graduated four years later earning a Bachelor of Psychology. Mrs. Gray attended the University of Memphis after that and earned her Master of Arts in Teaching in May 2000. While in graduate school Mrs. Gray received a Masters Fellowship from the University of Memphis College of Education and was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi honor Society. She was also a member of Kappa Delta Phi, an international honor society in education. In 2003 Mrs. Gray earned recognition by being voted Who's Who Among America's Teachers. Prior to joining the staff at Christ Methodist Day School, Mrs. Gray taught Remedial Reading and Library with the Memphis City School System. She also held the position as Librarian in the Memphis/Shelby County Public Library System. Mrs. Gray enjoys mountain camping, reading, and traveling to new places when not at school. She is also passionate about her beadwork. Inspired by a trip to Zambia in 2003 Mrs. Gray, has been involved in The Maanza a Leza Mission Project ever since. She has designed and sold her beadwork and organized a non-profit jewelry-making business, run by volunteers, for the benefit of helping the needy in a Zambian village. |
