Class of 1984
Lee Covey is an inspector for the Germantown Police Dept. He and his wife Candace have two children, Emma and Westin.

Class of 1985
Joy Jackson Copous lives in Southaven, Mississippi with husband Dale and their son, Eli. She teaches two-year-olds at Christ Methodist Day Care and is the daughter of CMDS retired third grade teacher Zoe Jackson.

Class of 1989
Brian Covey is a regional sales manager for Wells Fargo in Franklin, Tennessee. He and his wife, Nicole, have two children, Presley Rebekah and Davis Lee.

Class of 1990
Amy Burlington Wages lives in Collierville with her husband, Michael, and two daughters, Evie and Ainsley.

Class of 1993
CJ Averwater has long been a part of his family’s business, Amro Music. Now a manager, he’s worked in several different capacities over the years, including website development and marketing. CJ holds a bachelor’s degree from Hendrix College and an MBA from Ole Miss. He plays guitar with his own band and he and wife Heather are the proud parents of two-year-old Miles Graham.

Greg Brown earned his bachelor's and his MBA (finance) from UTK. He's married to Jennifer Lawson of Knoxville.

Class of 1994
Don Johnson lives in Lakeland and works for Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn as a field representative. In 2008, he received the “Statesman of the Year” award from the Tennessee Republican Party.

Class of 1995

CMDS sixth grade teacher Nell Fleming Womack recently completed her master’s in instruction and curriculum leadership with an emphasis on reading education, from University of Memphis.

Class of 1997
Allison Hinson is a graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design.  She is currently residing in Memphis and working for Youth Villages as a University Relations Recruiter.

Mitchell Lingerfelt and his wife, Kayla - both pharmacists - live in Collierville, Tennessee.

Drew Fleming
recently went to work for Running Pony Productions as production specialist and field audio engineer.

Andy Johnson and his wife, Heather, recently welcomed their first child, Ava Russell Johnson.

Angel Lingerfelt will earn her Pharm D this May from the UT College of Pharmacy. She is planning a November wedding with classmate Tim Jacobs.

Emily Spangler Sinclair lives in Nashville with her husband, Hunter, and is busy earning her masters in pediatric primary care nursing at Vanderbilt University. She has a B.A. psychology from the University of Virginia.

Auburn graduate Ruthie Fleming Turpin lives in Austin, Texas, with husband Andy. She is in a Fellows program working with children and youth ministries at a local Presbyterian church.

Class of 2000
Austen Wilson is working at Le Bonheur Urgent Care while attending the University of Memphis School of Nursing, along with her fiancé, Josh Godsey. The couple plans to marry in 2013, when they finish their degrees. Austen plans to work as a pediatric nurse and Josh will go on to graduate school to become a Nurse Anesthetist.

Class of 2001
Leslie Davis Moffett is a newlywed living in Starkville, Mississippi. She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Mississippi State last year and is a first grade teacher at Sudduth Elementary. Her husband, Jared, is a graduate assistant working on his MBA at the University of Mississippi.

Class of 2003
University of Alabama junior Zach Golden is spending the year studying Russian abroad at St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. He plans to graduate in 2013 with an international business degree.

Class of 2004
Jacob Bailey is studying criminal justice at UT Chattanooga. Last spring, he was named Kappa Sigma Fraternity Outstanding Scholar.

Class of 2005
Freshman Lydia Fuson plays soccer for Maryville College and is the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship, the school's highest academic award.

Univ. of Georgia freshman Dylan Maxwell has been awarded the Charter Scholarship for the 2011-12 academic year. The scholarship is given to first year undergraduates with stellar academic records, leadership and community involvement, and a respect for and commitment to intellectual, social and cultural diversity. 

Rayce Wiggins is in the Fulbright College honors program at the University of Arkansas where he is on the pre-med track. He is a freshman student government representative and serves on the Freshman Greek Council  for his fraternity, Phi Delta Theta. He was recently inducted into the National Collegiate Honor Society.  

Wilson Luttrell is a freshman at UT Knoxville, where he is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.  He is majoring in Public Administration, a joint program designed for students interested in law, government, and nonprofit enterprises.

Class of 2006
John Oates was chosen to represent MUS on the 2011-12 “Best of the Preps” private school cross-country team. He will graduate in May and plans to attend UT Knoxville this fall.

Briarcrest senior Mary Catherine McDaniel received the Germantown Education Commission Youth Excellence Award. To be considered for the award, a student must demonstrate academic achievement, volunteer effort, community service or exemplary activities. MC will be a freshman at University of  Arkansas this fall.

Class of 2007
Junior James Burnett was selected by faculty to serve as a student ambassador at Memphis University School. His responsibilities include giving school tours and being a greeter at special school functions. James also plays on the MUS varsity football and baseball teams.

CMDS is proud of the following graduates for achieving scout’s highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout: Nathan Bateman, Rob Jaffe, and Alex Taylor.

Lauren Lea Manhein is a member of the Ascensus Society, for exceeding 125 hours of exceptional community service.

Eric Zimmerman has served on Christ Church’s SOS team for four years. He is a member of Lausanne’s varsity swim team and is active in Model UN. Eric recently advanced to the finals in the National Robotics Team competition.

Class of 2008
Paxton Dixon and his family now live in Seacrest Beach, Florida, where he attends South Walton High School.

Hutchison sophomore Lauren Atkins was named to the 2011-12 “Best of the Preps” private school cross-country team.

Class of 2009
Gracey Burnett is a freshman at Hutchison where she is very active in the school’s Big Sister program. She meets with her little sister weekly after school, tutoring and then playing after all her homework is finished.

Freshman Caroline Cannon represented St. George’s on the 2011-12 “Best of the Preps” private school cross-country team.

Paxton Dixon and his family recently moved to Seacrest Beach, Florida, where he attends South Walton High School.

MUS freshman Hays Moreland recently qualified individually to represent his school at the state golf tournament. He was also named to the 2011-12 “Best of the Preps” private schools golf team.

Jerry Oates was named an MUS Springfield Scholar for being in the top 10 percent of his class based on a weighted GPA and for “demonstrating character consistent with the high standards of the school’s Honor Code and Community Creed.”  Jerry is also on the MUS championship Cross Country team.

Mary Catherine Thibodeaux attends Briarcrest Christian School, where she is a member of the National Junior Honor Society.

Martin Wood received a Golden Key in the Mid-South Scholastic Art Competition for his painting “Golden Shadows.”

Class of 2010
Elisa Dixon moved to Seacrest Beach, Florida with her family.  She is enjoying her new school, The O'Hana Institute.

Patrick Murphy is a member of the MUS Science Olympiad and Cross Country teams.

Olivia Roop is a cheerleader at Briarcrest Middle School. She recently earned a spot on the school tennis team and was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society.

Betsy Webb, who attends St. Agnes Academy, received honors for original artwork entered in the 2011 Mid-South Scholastic Art Competition.
