Sixth Grade
The culmination of the CMDS experience, sixth grade is packed with special traditions and academic highlights. Each fall, students travel to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, for a wonderful learning experience in the Ozark Mountains. Sixth-graders comprise the cast of the school’s Christmas Musical, as well as take part in unique classroom activities. Dissecting frogs in the science lab, playing the Stock Market Game, and exploring world geography with Mr. Jackson are some of the exciting activities that sixth graders experience. CMDS sixth grade classrooms have a one-to-one laptop program which further enhances their learning. We celebrate their time at CMDS with the annual Sixth Grade Roast, put on by the fifth grade. Finally, each May, these students are honored at Sixth Grade Graduation as they leave our school prepared for what lies ahead.
