Welcome to Christ Methodist Day School’s Early Childhood program. Our 2K, PK, JK and SK classrooms are mini learning communities that create interest through enriched curriculum, group activities, state-of-the-art technology and purposeful learning centers. A hands-on learning environment promotes creativity and critical thinking.
Our experienced and loving teachers are goal-oriented in their curriculum planning and meet regularly to assess their effectiveness. One of our primary goals is to enhance the intrinsic link between social and emotional growth, as these characteristics have proven to have a strong impact on a child’s cognitive development.
In addition to the rich curriculum, our Early Childhood students experience many memorable traditions. 2K students learn and grow, right along with the rest of our early childhood students. They love “P” is for pajama day and the trike-a-thon in the spring. It is always a treat to watch the PK students build dinos with their dads and dress up for their fairy tale feast. Our JK students celebrate Thanksgiving by preparing and serving a real feast and sharing a special Thanksgiving program for their parents and grandparents. SK students dress up as “100-year-olds” on the 100th day of school and enjoy getting to know their 6th grade buddies.
In keeping with the vision of our school’s very first headmaster, Mrs. Ella McVean, we strive to educate the whole child. Our staff is dedicated to teaching life skills and to helping each individual child develop to his or her full potential – spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally and physically. I invite you to schedule a personal tour of our campus so that you can see, firsthand, what a great place CMDS is to learn, to love and to grow.
