Instructional Assistants partner with Lead Teachers to provide students with multiple learning experiences in academics, emotional development, physical growth and spiritual guidance. They work with our Administrative Directors in a team approach to educating and caring for our children.
Duties include assisting the Lead Teacher with all programming and class activities. Working with the Lead Teacher, Instructional Assistants are responsible for the safety of our students as well as their physical and emotional needs. Assistants are also called upon to build strong relationships and maintain frequent communication with CMDS families.
Instructional Assistants must be able to help young children with their daily development needs. They must know first aid and be able to administer it. They also must attend staff meetings and in-service trainings throughout the year.
Our Instructional Assistants represent Christ Methodist Day School both on campus and in the community, so a commitment to professionalism is essential. Most importantly, our Assistants must possess a gentle demeanor, be observant of students’ needs and have an overall love of children.
