Early Childhood Instructional Assistant
Full- and Part-Time Positions Available for 2017-18 School Year

Early Childhood Instructional Assistants partner with Lead Teachers to provide students with multiple learning experiences in academics, emotional development, physical growth and spiritual guidance. They work with our Administrative Directors and Grade-Level Coordinators in a team approach to educating our children.

Duties include assisting the Lead Teacher with all daily lesson plans and class activities. Working with the Lead Teacher, Instructional Assistants are responsible for the safety of our students as well as their physical and emotional needs. Assistants are also called upon to build strong relationships and maintain frequent communication with CMDS families.

Instructional Assistants must be able to help students, some as young as age 2, with their daily development needs. They must know first aid and be able to administer it. They also must attend staff meetings and in-service trainings throughout the year.

Our Instructional Assistants represent Christ Methodist Day School both on campus and in the community, so a commitment to professionalism is essential. Most importantly, our Assistants must possess a gentle demeanor, be observant of students’ needs and have an overall love of children.

Rising PK Instructor, Summer@CMDS

Summer@CMDS is the summer day camp program of Christ Methodist Day School. Our Rising PK age group is a continuation of the care and nurturing that our 2K program gives throughout the year. The summer schedule is more relaxed and includes summer fun (like water play!) as well as enrichment.

Working with the Summer@CMDS Director, instructors are expected to develop and plan for daily activities and crafts. They plan the free play of centers and other activities based on the week’s theme. They also need to be ready for a fast-paced, fun environment where they can get wet and/or messy each day! Instructors are responsible for caring for each child as well as communicating professionally with our families. Rising PK instructors must implement the summer’s scheduled activities as well as participate in weekly meetings to plan for and evaluate activities.
